33 Weeks

Well, Thanksgiving Day marked 33 weeks for Kyle, Kase, and I. And I completely forgot to post anything about it. I was much more concerned with all the yummy food I was about to eat. So, I don't have a picture to post, but I'll post what has to say about the 33rd week.

This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He's rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren't fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don't entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.

I had the worst case of pregnancy brain last week. My appointment and ultrasound were actually scheduled for Tuesday instead of Wednesday so I missed it. I was able to get in on Wednesday to see Dr. Moore, but the ultrasound appointments were full because of the short week. We do have an ultrasound scheduled for this Thursday at 10am. Hopefully, I will have it together and be able to make it!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Ours was wonderful and filled with family, friends, and food!
